I've been considering the "fuel depot" situation in Antarctica. I haven't composed readable material yet but just to stimulate your thinking in that direction, take a look at this short video of a HERCULES (no less!!!) dropping fuel drums off. Unbelievable---- yet true.
The fuel depot at FOSSIL BLUFF (at the bend in the black line above) is bigger than the one in the video at the top of this post-- but its essentially the same thing. The Twin Otters and Dash 7's that fly routinely from Rothera (at the start of the black line at the bottom) to Halley (a smaller station at the top right) have to go to Fossil Bluff first. You yourself can "see" that if Rothera has fuel, then going to Fossil bluff is a DETOUR-- that it doesn't make sense. Sure, you're flying to a HIGHER southern latitude first but it seems to me that the distance isn't much different. I could be wrong. I'm no expert. I'm just considering fuel depots as a way to determine if the Earth is flat or not.
Here's another map view of the trip from Fossil Bluff to Hally. It looks like we're running from about 70 deg. W. Long. to 25 deg. W. Long. On a flat earth, that involves longitude lines that DIVERGE. Below, on the ball-earth map, they CONverge. By paying close attention to fuel, flying times and mileages from official sources as well as the now numerous blogs by Antarctic scientists and visitors, I'm always looking for "anomalies" that "don't make sense". You can see why I chose to fly from Rothera (just north of the Fossil Bluff fuel depot) to Halley to start the mission. There isn't anything "south" of that for quite a ways. Most of the internet reporting about leaving Rothera is about going to Halley, another British station run by British Antarctic Service. BAS.
It looks like there a 6 giant tanks in the photo above. This "fuel store" at Rothera should be enough to fill a DASH 7 or a TWIN OTTER... so it can get to HALLEY. Rothera is a bit high on the southern latitude, they say-- 75 I think-- where Halley is closer to 80. Don't quote my numbers. It's something like that. The amount of fuel and the range of the DASH 7 and TWIN OTTER should be considered. I'll most certainly have to do that to solve the problem of whether the earth if flat or a ball. Keep in mind that those airplanes CAN and DO transport EXTRA DRUMS of jet and airplane fuel IN THEIR CARGO BAYS! -- So what if they SAY they're taking the fuel to a SECRET fuel depot when IN FACT their siphoning extra fuel off the drums into the engine for extra miles??? And what if, to work in the Antrarctic, you MUST SIGN A NON DISCLOSURE agreement-- so that you end up with severe problems if you tell anyone what's going on? Maybe the Antarctic TREATY should be looked at for "non disclosure" elements.
Everything depends on FUEL in Antarctica. according to blogger Ken Turner. He goes so far as to say that "logistics... CENTER around getting fel to the right place at the right time"!!! This is why I'm interested in Fuel Depots. I also found out that countries hide THEIR fuel depots from OTHER fuel depots. They're SECRETIVE about them because they're COSTLY and they're sitting right out there in the open for another country's crew to steal it. So much for the "friendly coooperative scientific endeavor for all mankind".

Hi, I'm Captain Rick of the Virtual Circumference Voyage of Antarctica. I intend to prove definitively if Earth is flat or a sphere by paying careful attention to how many miles we cover as we travel "around" Antarctica. Flat earth theory says it's 50-60,000 miles. Spherical Earth theory says it 14,000 miles. Join me and ask any questions that you think would help our mission.
