Treshnikov's circumnavigation in progress sets example for my future cruise ship circumnavigation.

In my last entry (indexed below under Rick's Tour -1), I initiated my own physical circumnavigation on the day of Trump's inaugeration. Trump is a possible flat-earther as I note below. Today, in my study of cruise ships going around Antarctica, I covered Quark Expeditions and an update on the Treshnikov's mission-- which has now completed its first leg and for which I've made posts in the past under index item "ACE" or "Treshnikov" or "Swiss Polar Institute".

I think the best way to circumnavigate Antarctica is in cruise-ship comfort and style. I'm amazed by the unending trend of bigger and fancier cruise ships and I continue to wonder who are the people who can take time off and spend money on these trips-- which all seem pointless to me. The only trip that I see that could possibly interest me is one in which the route proves that the distance around Antarctica is consistent with a globe or plane. For that, I will have to charter my own cruise ship. I suppose I'll have to be the Commander with a hired Captain since I don't know how to sail. I can tell the Captain where to go and how fast or slow, however.

I'll attempt to document my internet search on this issue in continuing updates to this blog post below. USE YOUR RIGHT BUTTON ON YOUR MOUSE TO OPEN A NEW WINDOW for THE REFERENCES-- so you can still refer to my description of whats in the link and so that you don't have to reload my blog page every time you examine a reference.

The biggest cruise ship company I've discovered that runs Antarctica tours is Quark Expeditions. I've read their site in the past and have been disappointed, however, since all their trips are short and partial shoreline trips. Despite having advanced ships and touring the right part of the world, they don't seem to have the level of intelligence to conceptualize a complete circumnavigation like the Vendee hoaxers... er-- racers do. I've emailed their contact people about such a trip and I get nothing but flaccid and uncommitted pasty answers couched in corporatese politeness and invitations to one of their stupid partial trips. It's like talking to piece of rubber.

http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=cruise+ships+circumnavigate+antarctica&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Upon further searching Reference 1., I found this...

quote
www.quarkexpeditions.com/en/antarctic
Antarctica: the great white continent and one of the last true wilderness areas on earth ... passenger trips to Antarctica, including the Circumnavigation of the Antarctic .... Continue your journey on ship, where an adventure beyond your wildest ...

I seriously doubt that there is a full circumnavigation available. Usually, the cruise ships and others who discuss circumnavigation are actually doing a very partial circumnavigation. And they certainly don't prove even the partial circumnavigation by docking at the docks of the Antarctic research stations and documenting their docking so that we can all enjoy the pudding of proof-- or is it the proof of the pudding? Where did that phrase come from anyway? Who proves pudding? What does that even mean?

Clicking on Reference 3 above, I found this...

Quark Expeditions has been the world leader in polar cruises and guided tours for over two decades and successfully operated many first-ever passenger trips to Antarctica, including the Circumnavigation of the Antarctic continent and the first Weddell Sea voyage.
unquote

So they're claiming that they ran the first-ever passenger trip of the Circumnavigation of Antarctica. The problem with this is that there is no further discussion of that trip and certainly no current option to do that trip. Further searching reveals a more specific reference.

The Kapitan Klebnikov looks a bit ridiculous compared to cruise ships but at least this ship claims to have done something interesting-- which few cruise ships do. There is no reference on Reference 6. link to Quark's description of the Khlebnikov tours to the 1997 voyage which they say was the first passenger circumnavigation. There doesn't seem to have been a passenger circumnavigation of Antarctica since then either.

Here we see a lot of references to a voyage I previously noted in this blog, the Swiss Polar Institute's ACE trip. I had intended to follow this trip carefully but got sidetracked by car repair and job issues in Arizona and simply don't have discretionary time and money as I once had from 2007 to 2012 and occasionally from 2012 to 2016. All I can currently do is occasional updates when I can.

This is the closest thing to what I conceive as a passenger cruise ship circumnavigation of Antarctica that is currently going on. I believe this ship is currently en route. It's not exactly what I envision however. I'd rather be on a big cruise ship with entertainment and regular people-- not neccessarily on an "academic" ship with "academics".  That way, a wider cross section of regular people can be part of flat earth history. Academics might be controlled as to what they can report. This particular Treshnikov trip by Swiss Polar Institute for example, has as it's purpose, the study of global warming, a hoax. We can't really totally trust it for that reason in my opinion.

Catching up with the Treshnikov on a google search on that term for news in the past week, I found that they'd been at sea for 30 days on Jan. 19, just a few days ago as of this blog post on Jan 22. Note that Trump was inaugerated on Jan 20. So it can be said that Trump was inaugerated a day after Treshnikov completed it's first leg of an Antarctica circumnavigation fairly close to the shores of the island of Antarctica for all intents and purposes.... certainly close enough to confirm a 15,000 or 60,000 mile perimeter consistent with a globe or plane. I began this post with a reference to Trump's enigmatic statements that might be consistent with him thinking of the earth as flat as well, recently heralded by some other flat earth writers.

Here's a nice hit (15) from the Reference 11. search on the 1 week news mode on google covering the end of the first leg of the Treshnikov's trip.  It occurs to me that the first leg must have yielded some distance information that should be useful in determining if they covered 1/3 of 15,000 miles or 1/3 of 60,000 miles. So far I have no hard ship data at all-- only soft reporting of the trip. I certainly don't have any ship coordinates and time stamps. I don't have any GPS tracking elements or satellite references-- even though satellites are fake. There just is no hard data that I personally have access to or can find on the net that confirms that this trip is even taking place. I have not collected names of participants. I cannot contact anyone on the ship. I have no sky-star data of pictures take from the ship. Nothing. Just a story and pretty pictures of wildlife.

Embedded in the Reference 15 article is the homepage for the ACE trip.

http://spi-ace-expedition.ch/

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the logo for Iridium satellites at the bottom of the page.

Given that I think satellites are fake, it seems that this might be my first clue that the entire ACE mission is fake. At least we have realtime updates of the fake mission on the ACE homepage. Here is the latest update...

A link from the main page Reference 16 is the following "MarineTraffic" and "Iridium satellite" tracking page...

Commentary on References 24 to 28 regarding Dr. Sarah Fawcett.
Sarah Fawcett has some problems I think in the way she's presented. I've studied hoaxes like the 9/11 transmission towers disguised as buildings and the moon landing hoaxes for several years. What we look for, in an event that might be a hoax, are very simple anomalies. In Sarah's case, her name rhymes with Farah, the famous actress and her last name is the same. Sarah's photos show inconsistent body shape to my roving eye. Worst of all, her homepage has no photo of her at all. I cannot confirm her presense at U Capetown. Her news update page at "The Fawcett Lab" has one entry and has not been updated for some time.

Comment on Reference 29. We see Sarah Fawcett's name listed at UCapetown but no confirmation photo. We see an email contact and phone but just like the victims of 9/11 were fabricated, so too could Fawcett be a complete fabrication. There is no way to confirm her existence in reality. Her wordpress blog is suspicious since one would think she would publish her work on the official University of Capetown site. Anyone can create a wordpress document. I'd have to drill down further to confirm her presence at Princeton and Harvard. I don't see her CV anywhere. This is all pretty thin soup.

  1. I downloaded the brochure of the various research projects aboard the circumnavigating vessel, but was left wondering why they needed to do a circumnavigation for the work. It was if it were the tail wagging the dog, pretend to do a circumnavigation and pack a few scientists, whose projects were selected "according to criteria of scientific excellence" aboard to do some general Antarctic ocean ecosystem research.

    1. Frank Paulsen of Ferring Pharmaceuticals is behind it. He's interested in finding new life forms that could contribute to his drug patents, it seems to me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederik_Paulsen_Jr

If the rim is 60,000 miles, he's faking the circumnavigation. How exactly he's doing that is a good question. You're quite right about the fact that circumnavigation has nothing to do with his core mission. It actually ridiculous when you stop and think about it for a minute. With no actual voyage data and real markers that can be verified, he's likely taking massive short cuts similar to the possible vendee racers.

Here's my review of Paulsen's trip to the South Pole.

    2. Fair enough, but it still seems very artificial to me having to do a circumnativation to find new life forms.... By the way, we've just had reported another of these improbable Antarctica traverses - by another well heeled Brit - Dr Ollie Stoten, a military doctor. -50C 1100 miles in 66 days, accompanied by four other military personnel.

    3. I note that there is a prominent DONATION button for the army reserves on the Spear site. And I also note that their photo page has links that lead back to the photo intro page and goes nowhere. Finally, the bio page shows the separate pictures for all crew members in different scenes. It's all very strange given that there are clear travel protocols in Antarctica now so that these type of dangerous trips don't have to be done-- let alone are probably disallowed by authorities. I didn't see any description of that aspect-- the legality-- of the mission under the Antarctica regulators.

  2. Regarding the circumnavigational travel of the Akademic Treshnikov it is important you know the real travelling speed and real distance. Without it still a flat plane or a globe can be possible. But: at this moment leg 1 from Cape Town (33,5S;18,25E) to Hobart (42,5S;147E) has been travelled in 30 days with 4 stops so 26 cruising days.

If you put this on a globe model then the average distance travelled at average (42,5+33,5)/2= 38 South would be cos(38)*6371*2*pi*(147-18,25)/360 = 11281 km in 26 days aka 434 km/day aka 18 km/hour aka 10 knots/hour

If you put that on a flat plane then we would be at an average of (33,5+90+42,5+90)/2 = 128 degree from the North-pole. Then in 26 days they would have travelled an average distance of 6371*2*pi*128/360*2*pi*128,75/360 = 31983 km aka 1230 km/day aka 51 km/hour aka 27,8 knots/hour.

Maybe my method of thinking is wrong but based on known dimensions translated onto the flat plane it would suggest that the Treshnikov needs to travel over maximum speed (18 knots/hour) on a flat plane and at average speed (10 knots/hour) on a globe. I am not saying which is the correct one. But for this analysis it is important to have the real speed and real travelled distance to make some kind of conclusion here for the circumnavigation of Antarctica.

  3. Excellent point, Gerard. Thanks for the numbers and calculations. The ship data is something I've been watching for and and simply not found published. I would have to dig down another layer-- in terms of actual contact with the ship's bridge-- or other personnel -- to get this information it seems. The absence of this important data is, for me, a clue that maybe they voyage is not occurring as its being touted. Very impressive calculations-- there-- you're officially this virtual mission's navigator.

Hi, I'm Captain Rick of the Virtual Circumference Voyage of Antarctica. I intend to prove definitively if Earth is flat or a sphere by paying careful attention to how many miles we cover as we travel "around" Antarctica. Flat earth theory says it's 50-60,000 miles. Spherical Earth theory says it 14,000 miles. Join me and ask any questions that you think would help our mission.
